COMPANION PRACTICE

Beyond the Fade

Sense the furthest edge you can reach, cross it in the mantra, then begin again from a wider horizon.

THE SHARED SONG

A mantra for the expanding edge

Sense the furthest boundary you can feel, see, or imagine. Reach beyond it, settle into the wider possibility, and let that new horizon become your next starting point.

Use the song for a few focused minutes or let the 60-minute loop accompany your day. The mantra and breathing tracks are freely repeatable; choose the rhythm that serves you.

HOW TO PRACTICE

Follow the change in the lyric

You can keep your eyes open or closed. There is no need to force a crisp mental image; a feeling or vague sense of an edge is enough.

  1. 01

    Find your current edge

Notice the point where what you can picture or name begins to fade. Start with the edge you can sense now.

  2. 02

    Reach

When you hear “Expand beyond perception,” let your attention move beyond that edge. Follow the reaching cue for as long as it appears in the song.

  3. 03

    Arrive

When the words shift to “I moved beyond the thinnest thin” and “brought it back to light,” stop striving. Feel the crossing as complete and allow the wider possibility to become familiar.

  4. 04

    Begin again from here

When the song returns to the first phase, treat what you just experienced as your new baseline. Notice where the next edge is, then continue if you wish.

BREATHING SERIES

Choose a comfortable rhythm

These 15 versions place gentle breathing cues over the same song: a bell for inhale and a cymbal for exhale. The four highlighted tracks are common starting places. Pick any one, then stay or change by comfort: if you feel you are breathing too fast, choose a lower number for a slower tempo; if you feel you are waiting or holding your breath, choose a higher number for a faster tempo. Comfort is the goal, not the lowest number.
